Bylaws Amendments
In October of 2024, amendments were proposed to the CASGED Bylaws. Below is a summary of the proposed amendments. A link to all of the revisions can be found at the bottom of this page.
Summary of Amendments
Reduce size of Board
What: The number of Directors on the Board will be reduced from 9 to 7.

Why: This will make it easier for us to make sure we always have a "full" Board of duly elected Directors. Our hope is to get more participation in our committees, so that being on the Board is not the only way to be involved!
Number of Meetings
What: The minimum number of meetings per year will be reduced from 9 to 4.

Why: We'd like to host more informal events, hopefully one per quarter/season. Having less "formal" monthly meetings will allow us to do this. Informal meetings, such as gatherings and parties, have been more fruitful in terms of community engagement and getting know one another.
Boundary Area
What: We've expanded our geographic boundary to move all they way south to the north shore of the Allegheny River.

Why: In 2024, CASGED officially became a Registered Community Organization (RCO), recognized by the City of Pittsburgh. In the process, we established the RCO's boundary to include the areas south of E. Ohio Street to the Allegheny River.
